Sometimes rebellion is quiet, choosing love over hate, compassion over apathy. This is the intention behind Rebel Love.

The Story Behind Rebel Love

My jewellery draws from my strong belief in a more equal world, where people, animals and the environment are respected and nurtured.

Sometimes rebellion is quiet, choosing love over hate, compassion over indifference, care over convenience. That's the spirit behind Rebel Love. Through my jewellery, I explore the stories, ideas and connections that matter to me.

My first degree was in photography, and creativity has always been part of my life. I first discovered silversmithing during a short course in London in 2016, and I've loved working with metal ever since. Now, I'm returning to the arts, studying for a diploma in silver jewellery at Jewellers Academy and growing something of my own.

I work from my home studio, off-grid among the orange groves of Valencia, Spain. It's a place to create and live more sustainably, close to nature and surrounded by my cats, dog, chickens and partner.

My jewellery draws on my humanitarian work and my belief in a more equal world, where people, animals and the environment are respected and nurtured.

Rebel Love Jewellery is me, Kate Denman.

After 18 years working in the international humanitarian and development sector, I decided it was time for a change, a shift towards something more tactile, creative and grounding.

I work from my home studio, off-grid among the orange groves of Valencia, Spain with my partner (Rebel Love INK). It's a place to create and live more sustainably, close to nature and surrounded by my cats, dog and chickens.

I work primarily with recycled silver and brass, creating jewellery by hand using traditional metalworking techniques. Every piece is unique; nothing is mass-produced. I'm drawn to simple forms, interesting textures and jewellery that carries a story, whether inspired by nature, human rights, language or the connections between us. I like pieces with character, a little unexpected and open to interpretation.

“Your jewellery comes alive as vehicles or carriers of positive life forces - you imbue them with qi.”
